Director
Rafael Larx was born in Miami, USA. He grew up in Mexico and later studied film directing in Madrid, Spain.
From a very young age, he worked on film productions for companies such as Videocine and Netflix. In 2019 that he directed his first short film, “El eclipse de Jimena,” a social drama that was featured in national festivals. A year later, he directed “The Fall” in Spain, a project that gained significant attention at international festivals, particularly in Europe. Later that same year, he directed "Fuego & Cenizas,” a short film supported by FilmaJalisco and in collaboration with the government of Nayarit.
As a director, he also served as a second unit director on the feature film "Hijo de Familia," which premiered at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara, and more recently co-directed a series for Disney Plus titled "La increíble historia de Julia Pastrana," filmed in Madrid and Gran Canaria, which will be released worldwide in 2025. He has also worked on music videos, commercials, and documentaries.
He has experience directing notable actors such as Damián Alcazar, Cristo Fernández, Eduardo Noriega, Miguel Rodarte, Itzan Escamilla, Esther Acebo, Ana Brenda Contreras, Fátima Molina, among others.
